This is the image I thought about when I thought of video games. They get so involved in the game they are playing. Taking themselves into a totally different world than real life.
What is the deep pleasure human beings take away from video games? Video games allow players to act out the projective stance which the author calls "authentic professional" and they develop a sense of deep expertise that often avoided by learners in schools. Kids learn to reach goals virtually through video games but as teachers we need to engage them academically to reach goals as well. Video games are part of the future learning along with other forms of technology. As teachers we need to help them with advances and how to learn based on the different doctrines they create and have goals for.
I also believe video games take kids out of reality for a minute. It also shows them how to set goals which we could transfer to the classroom. I agree that video games are a part of future learning as we advance in technology.
ReplyDeleteYes, when children are playing video games they are taken out of reality. I think video games have both positive and negative effects on children. Video games are part of future learning, but it is important that educators and parents use this technology wisely. I personally feel that so much of what is important like playing outside, and socializing is lost due to the over use of video games.
